Neomi Ng’ang’a

The long awaited 7th Kalasha International Awards aka ‘The Kenyan Oscars’ went down on Saturday evening in a glamorous event held at The Crowne Plaza Hotel, Nairobi. You can see the full list of all the 2017 winners here. This year, the event did not disappoint in terms of the glitz and glamour. From the elegant and sophisticated décor to the beautiful styles won by the nominees of the night and other attendees. It was a truly red carpet event that lived up to its hype. This was a great improvement in terms of fashion from what we have witnessed in the past.

Even though the Kalasha Awards ceremony is all about acknowledging and awarding the best in the Kenyan film industry, a little effort to look good goes a long way. We applaud all those who made the effort to look good and thus turned the awards ceremony into a glamorous red carpet event. You were all looking great.

We put together some of our best looks from the night (in no particular order). A big shout out to all the designers who worked with the nominees of the night to ensure that they attended the 2017 Kalasha Awards looking like the stars they are. One of the biggest names in the designer’s list that kept popping up is Style by Neomi, a fashion/style brand by Neomi Ng’ang’a. She dressed a number of actors and media personalities at the event like Catherine Kamau, Joyce Maina and Kamene Goro among others. Neomi Ng’ang’a was also a nominee in the category of Best TV Host. Other designers are Onyango Peggy, @Yvonneafrostreet and @ashoksunnytailored who dressed both nominees and other attendees.
